Description

The Crank Position Sensor with Hall Effect technology is designed for precise measurement of crankshaft position and speed. Ideal for various engine management systems, this sensor provides essential data to your ECU for accurate timing and performance optimization.

Will I need to add a pullup to use this sensor?

  • No, this sensor has a voltage pullup already on the signal wire.

    I bought this hall sensor so I can run ford edis 6 cylinder setup. The wiring diagram shows a two wire vr sensor. How do I wire this in or will it not work? If not is there a two wire vr sensor with these same dimensions? I bought a custom bracket and this sensor fits perfect.

    We carry this sensor for use with the MegaSquirt family of ECUs. We have not confirmed if it will work with an EDIS module or OEM engine management. I would typically recommend using OEM sensors with OEM engine management; the sensors and controllers were often designed as a matched pair.

    Yes, we picked this size especially to fit common large-diameter Chevy dampers.

    The question on the sensor location is one I've seen fairly often. The sensor needs to be installed so it reads the edge of the wheel, perpendicular to the crank center line, instead of reading the face of the wheel, parallel to the crank center line.

    It depends on what MegaSquirt version you are using. The MSPNP is not set up for a Hall effect sensor; some other variants can use this sensor no problem.

    We have not tested it, but the crank trigger on these cars appears to have the right dimensions.

The orientation for my OEM crankshaft sensor mounting bolts are into the engine block right above crankshaft, there are two 10 mm bolts... looks like this product would work I would be able to swing it down with just enough Eric Gap clearance but crankshaft sensor teeth would line up to the side of the crankshaft sensor looks like it would be closer to the tip of the sensor but still on the side. Would this still work?

    The teeth need to be centered over the small black circle on the end of this sensor for best results. I can't promise you will be able to get a reading if the teeth are not lined up as designed.

  12. hi, this sensor is replacement of a sensor VR ? for ecu megasquirt. i have problem with the sensor VR oem of the engine. and I want to put a hall effect, but I'm not sure if it will work with the original engine wheel of crankshaft. the car is subaru impreza 6/7, with sensors VR. thanks.

    As long as the MegaSquirt is configured for the right input type and the trigger wheel teeth match the minimum recommended dimensions or larger (2.0 mm minimum trigger width, 2.0 mm minimum tooth / notch depth, and 2.0 mm minimum tooth / notch width measured along the diameter of the trigger wheel). Please measure your trigger wheel before ordering.
