MegaSquirt ‘MegaMeet 2012’

Posted on January 1, 2012

At The Classic Motorsports ‘Mitty’ at Road Atlanta – April 28th 2012

Brought to you by DIYAutoTune.com

When:  The official ‘MegaSquirt Meet’ will be Saturday April 28th, 2012 — We’ll be hanging out in the area Friday the 27th thru Sunday the 29th.  See schedule below!

Where:  Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA.  Just 30 minutes from DIYAutoTune HQ.

RSVPCLICK Here to RSVP!   (optional, but would help us out with planning!)

What:  The Annual MegaMeet is the opportunity to come and hang out with some of the major car geeks that make the MegaSquirt project happen.  Bowling and Grippo and several others who continue to make this project possible will be there to share the latest news on upcoming products and to talk tech.  We’ve had people travel from all over the US, come down from Canada, and from as far as the UK to be here, and that’s likely to happen again this year.

So what do we really do?

Well, first there’s the opportunity to meet/greet much of the core team.  You’ll get a glimpse at upcoming hardware and get to hear all the skinny on it.  Tuning software as well.  Anything MegaSquirt related that’s in the works or coming together, it will likely be here and you’ll see it first.  So basically we gather around, geek out, ooo’s and aaa’s are heard, we check out each other’s rides, have some food, and generally just have a good time.

This year we’ll again be combining the event with the Classic MotorSports ‘Mitty’ at Road Atlanta.  The Mitty is 3 days of road racing on Road Atlanta’s 2.54 mile course, combined with onsite camping, live music Friday and Saturday night and free beer on Saturday night, etc.

In addition to three days of racing, the MegaSquirt Meet on Saturday, and the GRM Party Saturday night, we’ll be having a live band ‘Hang Overture’ out at the DIYAutoTune.com tent on Friday night so come hang out, bring a chilled beverage if you’d like, and enjoy some killer music.

Wear your DIYAutoTune.com T-Shirt!

DIY will have a hospitality tent setup in our car corral area.  Your T-shirt gets you in for free ice-cold water, shade from the sun, and who knows what else.  Let’s see how many DIY T-Shirts we can smother Road Atlanta with!

Where to Stay:

Camp at Road Atlanta

Bring your tent and sleeping bags and crash out at the race track.  That’s where the fun is, anyways! May as well crash out there if you enjoy camping!

$25 for camping pass for the duration of the event.  Bonus– with the camping pass you don’t need the $10 Infield Parking pass, you’re covered.  Note there are RV spots as well if needed; contact Road Atlanta for more information.

Chances are much of the DIY crew will be camping out… the earlier you get there the better spot you’ll get!

Directions/Travel

If you’re flying in, you want to fly into Hartsfield. It’s a massive airport, and most of it is dedicated to Delta. That means you’ll likely get the best ticket rates on Delta…

It’s about an hour drive from Hartfield to Road Atlanta
