MM9697 has also been tested independently by customers and is currently in use in Australia. So long are your 96-97car is running the 1.8l motor, and ODB2 computer, it appears it may be the same worldwide. Watch out for some rare instances in some countries where 1.6l motors may have been used later than 1993, the MM9697 system will not be PNP in these instances.

• Based on the MegaSquirt-I PCBv3.57 running the MS1-Extra firmware. Initial release will be running MS1-Extra Hi-Res firmware version HR10e.

  • All software based features of the MS1-Extra firmware are therefore enabled. This includes:

    • 12x12 fuel and ignition tables, with linear interpolation between the cells giving you PLENTY of resolution

    • Programmable Rev Limiter

    • Overboost Protection (configurable of course, default is configured for 152kpa)

    • Mappable Air/Fuel Ratio Targeting when using a wideband o2 system (optional)

    • Coolant temp timing advance

    • Inlet temp timing retard

    • TPSdot (default) or optional MAPdot accel/decel enrichment

    • Overrun fuel cut

    • Tons of other standard EMS features that aren't worth mentioning here line by line... but it wouldn't be an EMS without them.

• 4 bar MAP Sensor (internal) good for up to 44 psi of boost *

• Wideband O2 Input (we recommend the Innovate Motorsports LC-1)

• Support for High Impedance injectors, or Low Impedance injectors with the addition of an injector resistor pack.

• Very high resolution injector PW control (.035ms) making idling huge injectors accurately no problem at all!

Extra Features added to the hardware:

  • Capable of using the stock clutch switch, alternately you can wire in a push-button if you prefer

• Flat Shift (keep your foot floored between shifts, just clutch, shift, and un-clutch. Keeps the revs up high but controlled, and if your turbo'd, helps keep it spoolin'!)

• Knock Sensor Input (for use with Knocksense MS external knock box)

• Real-time Barometric Correction *

• Cooling Fan Control

• Closed Loop Idle Speed control

• AC Control (yes your ECU controlled A/C will continue to function properly)

• 100% Plug-n-Play option leaving the stock MAF in place, or optionally you can remove the factory MAF/Airbox and pickup a few more ponies-- we've made this unit as flexible as possible. All that's needed to remove the factory MAF is a GM Style IAT Sensor, a short piece of pipe with an 3/8" NPT bung for the sensor, and a cone filter. We have a kit available here to simplify this.

• Built for the Plug-n-Player, but with the DIYer at heart-- there are several features built in to the circuit board to allow for modification and expandability, though of course hacking your box will effect your warranty.
