Replace your “413” DME with a tunable racing ECU! Allows tuning your BMW with a laptop to handle any mods you can throw at these engines!

Fits the following applications. Confirmed for US market vehicles.

  • 1993-1995 BMW 325 with M50 motor and manual transmission
  • 1995 BMW M3 with S50 motor and manual transmission
  • 1993-1995 BMW 525 with M50 motor and manual transmission

European market M3 compatibility is not confirmed at this point. Does not fit the earlier M50 non VANOS applications.

Where is this product assembled?

  • This product is assembled in Gainesville, Georgia, USA.

I have swapped a different year engine; will this still work?

  • You must use the MSPNP that matches the year of the engine harness you are using. It can run later engines, such as the M52 or S52, if they are using the '93-'95 wiring harness and sensors.

Is this all that I need to get started tuning my BMW?

  • This is a complete package. But there are some accessories you may want to use to get the most out of this unit.

What about OBD2 equipped E36s?

  • This unit can work with later E36s that are swapped over to the '93-'95 wiring and sensors.

    Unfortunately, the 402 pinout is a bit different from the 413. You could potentially repin the 88 pin connector. We're looking into making a 402 version as well, but we wanted to get the 413 version out first as it fit a wider range of applications.

    As long as you are using a "413" series ECU as part of the swap, yes. The only things that would not be functional would be smog equipment type stuff as this is a race-only ECU and not intended for street use.

    No - you can run on a narrow band once you have the tune set up for what your engine needs. The wideband O2 sensor is optional.

    Probably not - this one replaces the Bosch "413" controllers, but I expect this one would use a Siemens ECU with a different pinout.
