Description

Add a real time clock to give your MS3’s SD card logs a time/date stamp. This module solders to the MS3X board on the included pin headers. Requires a lithium battery, not included due to shipping restrictions. It’s compatible with the following batteries:

  • BR1216
  • BR1220
  • BR1225
  • CR1216
  • CR1220
  • CR1225

The BR batteries have a wider temperature range for use in cold climates, but are usually more expensive.
This module is intended exclusively for the MS3 and is considerably easier to install if used with an MS3X expansion board.

Note: If you are ordering the real time clock module with an assembled MS3 with MS3X, we can install it in the MS3 for an extra $15 charge. Please make a note of this in the Comments field when you place the order, or this will be shipped as a separate part.

Can I use this board without an MS3X?

  • You can wire it to the 34 pin header on the MS3 daughter board directly. However, it is considerably easier to install with an MS3X, as it just needs to connect to the MS3X on pin headers.

Where is this board made?

  • The PCB is made in the USA and assembly takes place in Gainesville, Georgia, USA.

This module is used to add a date and time stamp to the SD card data logs, so you'll know when the log was recorded. If you are making extensive use of the SD card data logging, it's very helpful. It currently does not affect any other features beyond the SD card logging.
