Note: Many of these models do not have an IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor from the factory. On these cars, we strongly recommend installing a GM IAT to allow for air temperature correction.

Note: Although there is a paid upgrade to TunerStudio, it is not needed to tune this ECU. The free version included on the USB Stick can access all the features and tables of the MegaSquirtPNP. The paid version of TunerStudio simply adds tuning and analysis software, such as VE Analyzer Live (auto tune) to tune the fuel tables based on wideband O2 feedback (requiring a wideband O2 sensor and controller, sold separately).

    Is this all that I need to get started tuning my 240SX?

    • The only other potential must-have is that if your laptop doesn’t have a 9 pin serial port, you will need our USB to serial adapter to connect to this unit. However, there are several other things you may wish to add to use this unit to its full potential.
      • If you are tuning it yourself, a wideband O2 sensor system is a must have for adjusting the fuel.
      • Our bolt in trigger wheel kit will allow using sequential injection or distributorless ignition conversions. Single cam KA24E motors typically require a 54 mm trigger wheel, while twin cam KA24DE motors usually require a 50 mm trigger wheel. This MSPNP fits a wide variety of applications and Nissan built many variants of this engine, so please measure the wheel in your distributor before ordering a trigger wheel.
      • This unit can function as a boost controller if you add our boost control solenoid package.

    My car originally came with an automatic transmission, but I’ve swapped it to a manual transmission. Will this MSPNP work for my car?

    • Yes. The only difference between wiring for manual and automatic transmission cars for this model are the wires used for transmission control.

      Yes, fan control is standard on this application.

      Yes, although on some applications you may need one of the outputs for fans or the like, so some installs will need to run the coils in pairs instead of fully sequentially. You will need our drop in trigger disc - please check if you need the 50 mm trigger disc or 54 mm trigger disc before ordering.

      If your coils don't have built in ignition modules, this is not a problem - just add our QuadSpark ignition module. The only "gotcha" are motorcycle CDI pencil coils, which have very low spark energy if you try using a conventional ignition module. I've seen these used in a few poorly thought out coil on plug "conversion kits". If you really want to run a set of motorcycle CDI coils, you could use an M&W multi channel CDI box.
