Taking it to the MAX?  Two great things that go great together on this Miata/MX5
MSPNP Pro and MaxSpark PNP!!

MaxSpark PNP Ignition System for Miatas

The MaxSpark PNP High-Performance Ignition System for the Miata is the perfect pairing with this ECU!  We took the ultra-high performance IGN1A Ignition Coils, designed a bracket to mount these coils on the NA/NB Miata engines that fits these motors perfectly and looks good doing it, built a wiring harness that’s almost too pretty to tuck, but designed to tuck it is, and included plug wires as well.  It’s everything you need to quickly and easily install the hottest ignition system available on the market anywhere, for your Miata/MX5.

  • Super Easy PNP Installation.  Unbolt your factory or inferior aftermarket ignition system and bolt ours in place.  Plug it into factory connectors, connect high current power and grounds with pre-terminated terminals to the engine and fusebox (it’s easy), and you’re up and running.
  • Let’s be honest… the harness is just dead sexy.  And you can tuck it if seeing that sexiness is just too much to handle.  We understand.  😉
  • Use with the MSPNP Pro, the MSPNP2, the stock ECU, or even someone else’s ECU.  It just works.
  • Allows you to convert to Sequential Ignition if your ECU supports it!
  • Supports stock 12v power, or 16v aftermarket power common in some racecars!
  • Fits VVT cars, Fits RHD cars, clears all known strut tower braces including three point bars.

Where is this product assembled?

  • This product is assembled in Suwanee, Georgia, USA.

I have swapped a different year engine, will this still work?

  • You must use the MSPNP that matches the year of the engine harness you are using.

Does this work for the European market ’99-’00 1.6 Miata?

  • Our European customers report that it does. There is an internal pull-off jumper you will need to change if the vehicle has an immobilizer, and you will need to scale the map for the smaller engine size.

Is this all that I need to get started tuning my Miata?

  • This is a complete package, including USB adapter. But there are some accessories you may want to use to get the most out of this unit.

Do I need to swap to a GM style intake air temperature to remove the mass air flow sensor?

  • On ’99-’00 Miatas, the IAT sensor is separate from the mass air flow sensor, so it is not necessary to get a GM type sensor if removing the MAF. However, if you are relocating the IAT sensor for a turbo installation, it is often easier to use a threaded IAT sensor such as the GM design.

Will this control VVT if I swap in a later VVT Miata engine?

  • Yes. VVT control is standard equipment on the MSPNP Pro.

What is the difference between the MSPNP Gen 2 and the MSPNP Pro?

  • The MSPNP Gen 2 will provide fuel and ignition control, plus some basic race features such as launch control and boost control. The MSPNP Pro adds a number of advanced features, such as:
    • Programmable alternator voltage control that you can adjust through TunerStudio
    • VVT control for ’01-’05 engine swaps
    • Sequential spark control for coil per plug conversions
    • Eight fuel channels to allow for a fifth injector control or staged sequential injection
    • Boost by gear or ground speed
    • Timed boost delay and spark retard activated by launch control
    • Traction control
    • Rally style anti-lag
    • Advanced flex fuel support that allows blending almost all fuel and ignition tables based on fuel composition
    • Progressive nitrous control

Q Is it available with USB port as well?
    Asked by Axl
    A

The USB connection is brought out to an internal header, but we do not offer one with a connector installed at this time.

  2. I have a Miata unfinished turbo project thrown at me and there is no management system with it. Seems et fmu in it which sends the fuel pressure sky hi. Not acceptable so I'm looking at the ms3pro system. Please clarify, does plug and plat mean it plugs into the existing ecm harness or do I need to run a new harness?
